Vox Pop Brings Their Soulful Harmonies to New Deal Café July 11
By Annamarya Scaccia
Sometimes all you need are the rhythms of expressive vocals to make you feel the music.
At least, that’s the way it is whenever Vox Pop takes the stage.
Washington, D.C.’s semi-professional, mixed-voice vocal band can mimic any affecting harmony, modern oeuvre and stylized beat produced by any top-of-the-line instrument without distracting from the purity of their polished intones. And that’s what makes this diverse a capella group so unique. While they may cover classic like The Who’s “Pinball Wizard,” they do it with a style all their own.
Need proof? Check them out on Wednesday, July 11 when they play at New Deal Café, 113 Centerway, Roosevelt Center in Greenbelt. Vox Pop will share the bill with their fellow hometown vocal group, Supreme Chord.
