SHORT STORY

Screen Shot 2014-08-27 at 12.55.07 PMSOUTH BROOKLYN NATIVE LIVING IN THE BRONX. I am an independent  journalist who has reported extensively on sexual and domestic violence, reproductive and sexual health, civil rights, public health, law and policy, disability issues, transgender issues, LGB issues, sexuality, music, and communities, among other topics. This year, I received a grant from Temple University’s Center for Public Interest Journalism to attend the Investigative Reporters & Editors annual conference, held in San Francisco in late June (read my thoughts here). I was also a 2011 Peter Jennings Project for Journalists & the Constitution fellow, and am the author of the 2005 poetry and prose collection, Destiny for a Tragedy.

Beginning August 2014, I will attend the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism after seven years of working in the field.

Oh. And I was kicked off of Romper Room for being too rambunctious.
