Philadelphia punk outfit the Loved Ones are heading into the studio this September to record the follow-up to their 2006 effort Keep Your Heart, out now on Fat Wreck Chords.
The band, featuring ex-members of Paint It Black, Kid Dynamite, Trial by Fire, and the Curse, has enlisted the help of Pete Steinkopf and Bryan Kienlen of Bouncing Souls to produce the record, along with Bob Strakele, soundman to Alkaline Trio, Bouncing Souls, and the Hold Steady, to work as the project’s engineer. There are also plans of a cameo appearance by the Hold Steady’s Franz Nicolay to tickle the ivories on the yet-to-be titled album.

The Loved Ones released the following statement via their MySpace blog:

“We’ve been toiling away writing songs and getting ready to go into the studio to record our record in September…We are really excited about this news and wanted to share it with you as soon as the plans were in place. Keep your ears open for more updates as we finish writing and go into the studio.”

The new record is scheduled to be released in early 2008. For more on the album, click here.
