Not only is the body is a temple, it’s also an impressive medium for crafting music. In stepping, the body is used as an instrument in creating heavy, percussive beats that, when the rhythm is right and the passion is vibrant, can be a magnetic experience. And that’s exactly what to expect at this weekend’s Battle of the Greeks “Go Hard or Go Home” Step Show Competition.

Presented by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.’s Prince George’s County alumnae chapter, the annual step show event will feature local fraternity, sorority and youth step teams battling it out in hopes of winning either first, second or third place (youth teams are only competing for first and second place). The competition starts at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 31 and will be held at the Show Place Arena, 14900 Pennsylvania Avenue in Upper Marlboro.

In addition to the intense, blood pumping performances, attendees can visit different vendors selling buy Greek paraphernalia. Washington, D.C.’s DJ Jealousy will provide the music while 95.5 WPGC’s Herkules will host.
