When the New Year rolls in, we start thinking of ways to improve ourselves, our situations, and our surroundings. In just a week, we will ring in 2013 and welcome all those possibilities the New Year has to offer.
But before we compile our lists of resolutions, we have to first say farewell to all the interesting experiences of 2012. And what better way to countdown the New Year than with an all-night, all-out bash.

The largest New Year’s Eve celebration this side of the Potomac, Big Night DC is back again to welcome in 2013 with a bang. And it’s not skimping on the festivity, either—there are 15 themed spaces including Mardi Gras, Vegas Casino, Retro, Club Electronica, and Hip Hop; five dance floors; a wealth of full, open bars; high-end cuisine; a performance from the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders; and a huge lineup of DJ and bands including Saeed Younan, DJ Neekola, DJ Flounder, DJ Lil’ Fos, the Fuzz, DJ Beach, DJ Kwest, and Bryen O’Boyle. Admission price is set to increase soon, so make sure you purchase tickets soon.

Presented by Tobias Celebrity Music Events for Charity, this is one New Year’s Eve bash that is good for the soul. Detroit’s ‘70s soul group the Dramatics will serve as the night’s main act, supported by bill mates BT Richardson & Black Coffee Experience, Immortal Soul, Tomorrow’s Time, and DJ Bobby Brown. It will include food, an open bar from 10 p.m. to midnight, and a cash bar. And what’s better: a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Waldorf-based Center for Abused Persons. Presented by Made in the City Entertainment, this New Year’s Eve soirée will feature all the fixings needed to ring in 2013, as well as original and current members of Rare Essence and Experience Unlimited—two of Washington, D.C.’s late ‘70s go-go greats. They will be joined by two other D.C. acts: Be’la Donna and All 4 U Band.

Counting down to 2013 at Martin’s Crosswinds will have party goers enjoying an extravagant buffet that will include an unlimited salad bar, fresh fruit, a cheese display, elegant entrees, and decadent desserts; an open bar; music by DJ Delights; party favors; and a champagne toast.

Maryland native Andy Poxon and his band will provide the bluesy and rockabilly soundscape for New Deal Café’s New Year’s Eve party. Attendees will also get the chance to chow down on a special holiday menu that includes appetizers, soup and salad, a meat or vegetarian entrée, dessert, and champagne at midnight.
