Next week, the U.S. House will vote on legislation that would prohibit abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy. According to ThinkProgress, the ban, led by National Right to Life Committee-endorsed Representative Trent Franks (R-Az.), is based on the unscientifically-sound belief that fetuses can allegedly perceive pain at 20 weeks—four weeks shy of a woman’s constitutional right to abortion access under Roe v. Wade. The bill is expected to pass the anti-choice Republican-controlled House, but fail in the Democrat-controlled Senate (To read more about the legislation, visit: http://thinkprogress.org/health/2013/06/11/2135261/house-vote-20-week-abortion-ban/?mobile=nc)
In an effort to combat anti-choice propaganda in advance of the vote, pro-choice activist, and researcher Steph Herold (@StephHerold) took to Twitter to share later abortion facts under the hashtag #factsonlaterabortion and #factsonlaterabortions.
